Ann M. Menke, CPA - Owner
Ann founded the firm in 1990. As the firm’s Owner, she is responsible for the overall management of the firm, but admits to having a lot of help. During tax season, she has direct contact with clients to the tune of about 12 to 15 appointments, six days a week. Her time during off season is mostly spent reviewing audits, providing guidance along with some client contact as needed/requested.
Ann’s expertise is with small to medium size family businesses with special needs, including cash flow issues, transition to the next generation, structuring the sale of the business, etc. She has been heavily involved in a family business herself since the age of 14, working through high school and college in production, delivery and management of this business.
Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa, Ann worked for a CPA firm and also as controller for a medium size non-profit with an annual budget of about $5 million. She quickly became bored with working for only “one client” and so decided to start her own firm in 1990.
Ann is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Iowa Society of CPAs, AICPA, Ft. Madison Community Hospital Board, and Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Board. She also volunteers as needed for Holy Trinity Catholic Schools and St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, Iowa.
When away from the office, Ann enjoys spending time with family and friends; boating on the Mississippi; traveling, especially in Europe; a good bottle of wine and the perfect medium rare steak.
